Dr. Norwazilah has vast experience in the Ophthalmology field. She is a graduate of University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and received her MD and Master of Surgery (Ophthalmology) in 2000 and 2009.
Upon completing her master’s in ophthalmology, she worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu for one year in 2010 and Hospital Putrajaya from 2011 until 2019. She became the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Hospital Putrajaya in 2018. While in Hospital Putrajaya, she was also a guest lecturer at Perdana University. She joined Avisena Specialist Hospital in 2019.
During her time with the Ministry of Health, she had organised various awareness and outreach programs. She is also part of the National diabetic retinopathy steering committee responsible for organising courses for diabetic educators to operate fundus cameras and report fundus photos of diabetic patients. She is also an editor of Diabetic retinopathy screening workshop module, 2nd edition.
Cataract surgery with monofocal or premium (toric, multifocal, multifocal toric and EDOF) intraocular lens implantation.
