On standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

The unit is run by a multi-professional team of doctors and nurses who are specially trained to assess and manage emergency situations.

Time is of the essence in emergencies and as such, severe or life-threatening cases will be prioritised. When the need arises, our specialists and surgeons will be on call to assist.

We aim to deliver the most effective clinical care possible as urgently as we can. We’ll also make every effort to allay the distress and anxiety you may be experiencing as a result of the accident or emergency.

Trauma and emergency treatment

Medical officer consultation (report/prescription)

Outpatient services include:

  • Major and minor dressing
  • Blood taking
  • Treatment of burns, post-operative wound care, laceration wounds, nail avulsion.
  • Covid-19 screening (RT PCR/RTK)
  • POP and splinting for fractures and injuries
  • Vaccinations
  • Nebulizer and oxygen therapy for patients suffering shortness of breath and tightness of chest
  • Ryles tube and catheterisation bladder drainage (CBD) insertion procedure
  • Assistance for stroke, elderly, bedridden or disabled patients
  • Inter-hospital transportation
  • ECG testing

Facilities available at our unit:

Priority lane service (for the disabled, senior citizens aged 70 and above as well as for babies less than a month old)

  • 24-hour ambulance services
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Laboratory testing
  • Resuscitation bed (for emergency cases)
  • Isolation bed (infectious diseases)
  • Breastfeeding room
  • Waiting area
  • Admission lounge (operating from 9am to 5pm, complete with recliners, TVs, water dispenser and reading materials)

Patient flow

The two essential preliminary steps are:

Step 1:

Triage, to categorise cases into different levels of severity, colour coded as:

  • Red – critical (immediate attention)
  • Yellow – semi stable (within 15 mins)
  • Green – stable (within 30 mins)

Step 2:

Registration, open 24 hours and attended to by pleasant, well-trained staff. The team here also manages appointments for specialist clinics, even beyond office hours (after 5pm).

  • Identification card or passport
  • Referral letter (if any)
  • Cash payment/Guarantee letter/Insurance policy
