Our unit provides a full range of ophthalmology services for patients seeking routine eye care, as well as treatment for more critical optical problems.
Our services are aided by the latest in ocular diagnostic devices and treatment methodologies.
Our consultant ophthalmologists and optometrists are more than ready to share their expertise and knowledge to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Ocular imaging:
A visual field examination measures a person’s entire scope of vision (both central and peripheral). This test maps the visual fields of each eye and can detect blind spots (scotomas) as well as areas of dim vision. It is effective in diagnosing glaucoma and other optic nerve problems, while providing enough details for our ophthalmologists to work out specific treatments.
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take highly-accurate cross-section images of your retina. This test allows us to study the retina’s distinctive layers in order to map and measure their thickness, which is necessary for the diagnosis. The test also provides guidance for treatment of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease.
Our Cirrus HD-OCT device offers essential optical coherence tomography (OCT) capabilities in a compact package.
This advanced innovation is necessary for the effective management of glaucoma and retinal disease, retina assessment for cataract surgery and anterior segment imaging for corneal disease.
Widely regarded as the gold standard in perimetry, our HFA3 delivers interactive analysis quickly and reliably.
It offers reduced testing time and provides more accurate insights for the analysis of glaucoma.
Our VISUCAM fundus camera comes with a 24-megapixel sensor and revolutionary optics to generate ultra-high-resolution images of the fundus – consisting of the retina, macula, fovea, optic disc and retinal vasculature.
The images will provide our ophthalmologists a reference to compare with during follow-up visits.
VISUPLAN 500 non-contact tonometer makes examination of intraocular pressure (IOP) easier. It does not require contact with the cornea or the use of anaesthetics.
With this device, the IOP is measured with a soft puff of air, ensuring you more comfort.
This latest, non-contact instrument features laser technology to measure the length of the eye accurately as required for cataract surgery.
It offers readings that are more precise than ever before, even when compared to ultrasound tests, allowing our ophthalmologists to select the right lens for you.
A high-performance combo device that consists of a VISULAS 532s argon laser for use in retinal photocoagulation as well as a VISULAS YAG III laser for posterior capsulotomy and peripheral iridotomy in patients with narrow angle or angle closure glaucoma.
