Dr Azura Rozila Ahmad studied medicine in Royal College of Surgeons Dublin, Republic of Ireland. She graduated with honours in 1998 and completed her general medical training in Belfast, United Kingdom. She obtained her membership for the Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom (MRCP) in 2001. She is a Specialist in Medical Oncology and was fully trained in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. She is a certified member of European Society of Medical Oncology. She was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from the Joint Committee of Higher Medical Training of United Kingdom on completion of her oncology training in 2009 which is recognized by the General Medical Council, UK. Before returning to Malaysia she worked as a consultant in Belfast Northern Ireland Cancer Centre. She has also worked as a visiting consultant to the Brunei Cancer Center.
She treats solid tumours particularly breast, lung, colorectal and upper gastrointestinal (stomach and oesophagus) cancers. She is also an investigator to several clinical trials. She is a member of the Asia Pacific Thoracic Oncology Group. She is also part for the European Society of Medical Oncology integrated oncology and palliative care group.
She believes that cancer treatment should be personalized with holistic consideration for physical and emotional well-being.
