The day national footballer Faisal Halim suffered fourth-degree facial chemical burns, many thought his sporting career was over. The injuries were deep, the pain relentless, and the risk of permanent damage high. Yet, as reported in Sinar Daily, the Avisena Specialist Hospital burn care team approached the case with a clear, urgent plan.
Within 48 hours, human donor skin from a European skin bank was flown in and prepared for grafting – essential because artificial skin substitutes would not survive in chemically damaged tissue. Surgeons combined the grafting with stem-cell therapy, healing serums, and precision laser treatment to stimulate regeneration and minimize scarring.
Physiotherapists and nurses worked alongside surgeons from day one, ensuring Faisal retained mobility, function, and mental resilience throughout the recovery. This multidisciplinary approach – uniting surgical expertise, regenerative medicine, and rehabilitation – turned what seemed like “mission impossible” into a celebrated recovery story.
