Specialist Background

Dr Hazli Zakaria is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who obtained his medical degree from the University of Adelaide, Australia and Postgraduate Psychiatric training from the University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Since 2018, he has been serving as the President of Malaysia Psychiatric Association (MPA), an organization he has been actively involved with since 2009. His clinical interests include Mood disorder-Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Adult ADHD, addiction and psychotherapy.

He is a member of the development group for Malaysia Clinical Practice Guidelines in bipolar disorder and is one of the co-teachers for the Advanced Training Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program. Dr Hazli Zakaria is also a board member of the Psychotherapy section of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) section, serving from 2017 to 2019.
